About

Hi! My name is Adam and I’m a motion graphic designer and video editor, based in Samobor, Croatia.

With almost 15 years of work experience, industry design trends and standards are still my main commitment, with a strong focus on processes and tools. I also dedicated a great part of my life nurturing hobbies like music, video, design, programming and vintage devices, some of which I brought to a professional level.

When not working or learning new tools, I spend my time with my wife Livia, who is a great support and help when it comes to my work, and my kids Paolo and Lili, who already show great interest for all my vintage devices and camera 🙂

programs that I mostly use

After Effects 98%98%
Premiere 95%95%
Cinema 4D 50%50%
Photoshop 60%60%
Illustrator 80%80%
Audition 70%70%

From each of them, I take what I need to create and finalise my project. For example, most of the time I use Illustrator and Photoshop to prepare my assets for motion graphics design, not to draw or, let’s say – retouch the photos, in those areas I only cover the basics. And when I started to learn After Effects, I spent days and nights in front of the screen, watching hundreds of tutorials, until I managed to become fast and good at it, but only in relation to my area of work. All of these programs are powerful and complex, and the deeper I dig in, the more I realise there’s still much more to overcome.

Since I didn’t want to limit myself just as a 2D motion artist, learning a 3D software was the next logical step. I chose Cinema 4D which was even more challenging than the After Effects, but hey, challenge to learn new tools and techniques is what drives me all this time. I think Cinema 4D is going to keep me on my toes for a while, since there’s still lot more to perfect.

Experience

I’ve spent 3 years working for a news and lifestyle portal in Croatia, shooting and editing video editorials and coverages. After that, I’ve spent 2 years as a video editor and multimedia producer for online department of one of the biggest publishing company in Southeast Europe, covering news, fashion, lifestyle, sports and many other topics. I was responsible for creating all the visuals for the videos and slowly started to edit and animate  TV commercials for different in-house newspapers and magazines.

After getting better in 2D animation, I moved to a leading marketing agency, where I worked as a motion graphics designer, animating promo videos, presentations, animatics, TV and radio commercials for the biggest Croatian brands on the market.

Determined to work independently, I decided it was time to work as a freelancer. I covered music videos, documentaries, trailers, promos, TV bumpers, supers, idents, animatics, opening and closing titles, infographics and explainer videos, TV and radio ads –  combining different creative elements like typography, illustration, logos, shapes and video.
